Uploading a Product
A product should consist of text and pictures. Detailed literal description and clear pictures can attract more buyers. When uploading a product, fill in the following information: product name, brief description, attribute values, product description, sales information, service commitment, and other information. Choose Products > Add Product, as shown in the following figure:
On the Add New page, select a product category. The following content describes the procedure of uploading a running jackets product, as shown in the following figure:
1. Basic information of product
A title should be clear, complete, and vivid. A title can consist of 140 characters at most.
After filling in the title, add basic attributes of the product, as shown in the following figure:
Note: The attribute values you enter are directly shown to buyers. Attributes marked * must be filled in with caution. Otherwise, the product may not be successfully uploaded or released.
You can set different retail prices for different specifications of a product and show then to buyers, as shown in the following figure:
2. Sales information of a product
Choose to sell the product by piece or bag. If you choose By Bag, fill in the number of products per bag. The sales unit is Piece. You can select Other Sales Unit, as shown in the following figure:
If you select Other Sales Unit, Pair, Set, Dozen, and other units will be displayed.
The product can be set to Stocked or To Be Stocked. If you select Stocked, the stocking place, quantity, and stocking period can be set. The stocking period of products with stock is no more than 4 days. If you select To Be Stocked, set the maximum purchase volume and set the stocking period to 1~60 days. For details, see the following figure:
Stocking period: Indicates the number of days from the time the seller confirms an order to the time required product is shipped. This item is defined by the seller. The international transport time is excluded here.
Product price range
On DHgate, for the same product, you can set different prices for different quantity ranges. If the product boasts different specifications, you can also set different prices for different quantity ranges based on the specifications.
The following figure shows how to add specifications.
Sale status: Indicates whether to show this specification to buyers. If this specification is unavailable, select Unsalable.
Actual revenue: Indicates the actual sales price of the product. It is filled in by the seller. This amount is the final amount of the payment the seller receives.
Buyer's price: Indicates the price shown to buyers. It is calculated by the system based on the actual revenue and brokerage of the product category. When you move the mouse to the word commission, the brokerage rate of this product category will be displayed, as shown in the following figure:
Product code: You can configure a code for the product to distinguish it from other products from different factories or with different categories and specifications.
3. Product description
Use vivid and authentic pictures to show your product. The pictures must be prepared before the product is uploaded. You can choose Local or Album to upload pictures, as shown in the following figure:
Note: A maximum of 8 pictures can be uploaded for the same product. You are advised to select pictures from Album, because pictures from Album are reviewed more quickly.
To enable the seller to manage products with ease, you can create a product group and add products of the same type to the group, as shown in the following figure:
You are advised to add some keywords that buyers may enter to search for required products in the brief description box. Full-width punctuations entered will be automatically converted into half-width punctuations. A maximum of 500 characters can be entered, as shown in the following figure:
Offer more details that cannot be covered in product name and specification description to buyers. Information that buyers are interested in includes product features, functions, services, packages, and transportation. The information enables buyers to understand more details of the products. You can also show the seller's expertise by personalized description, for example, making a template or internal links of products on DHgate, showing more related products to buyers, performing self promotion, and attracting buyers. A maximum of 80,000 characters can be entered. HTML is supported.
In detailed description, external links are not allowed, and contact information such as mailbox, website and Skype accounts cannot be shown in any form.
Because DHgate products are intended for buyers outside China, you are required to fill in information in English so that the buyers can understand your products accurately. You can also log in to DHgate and click Online Translation to translate your product information into English.
4. Product packaging information
Weight including packaging
Enter the weight, as shown in the following figure:
Size including packaging
Enter the product length, width and height, as shown in the following figure:
Considering that the packaging weight of some products is not increased according to the product quantity, DHgate provides a customized weight calculation method for products with larger packaging weight and smaller volume.
5. Freight setting

6. Other information
Validity period of product
The period from the time a product is successfully submitted to the time the product is brought off shelf is referred to as the validity period of the product. The default validity period is 90 days.
